American psychologists Schacht and Singer proposed the two-factor theory of love, which believes that love is mainly determined by physiological arousal and cognitive factors. Individuals perceive specific emotional objects through sensory organs, and thus produce a kind of self-awakening. Evolutionary psychology believes that the essence of early human sexual union is to obtain the need for reproduction. In order to achieve this goal, men and women need to adopt different strategies to seek reproductive success. These strategies constitute different mate selection behaviors and preferences of men and women.
