Scale introduction

Anxiety test scale - State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) free online test. STAI was compiled by Spielberg in 1977 and revised in 1983.

It includes two parts: one is state anxiety; the other is trait anxiety, which is to assess people's emotional experience under normal circumstances. The scale is based on the norm and has a wide range of adaptability. This test is mainly suitable for adults.

This star table can be used to assess the anxiety of medical, surgical, psychosomatic and mental patients; it can also be used to screen for anxiety problems in college students, soldiers and other professional groups; and to evaluate the effectiveness of psychotherapy and drug treatment.

It consists of 40 descriptive questions, divided into two subscales:

  • State Anxiety Inventory (abbreviated as S-AI), including questions 1-20. State anxiety is usually a short-term unpleasant emotional experience. It is mainly used to reflect the experience or feeling of fear, tension, worry and neurosis at an immediate or recent specific time. It can be used to evaluate the anxiety level under stress.
  • Trait Anxiety Inventory (T-AI for short) includes questions 21-40. Trait anxiety is a relatively stable anxiety tendency as a personality trait with individual differences. It is used to assess people's frequent emotional experiences.

The scale has the following characteristics:

  • It can assess state anxiety and trait anxiety separately, which is better than other anxiety scales.
  • The scale is self-assessed, concise, easy to operate, and easy for subjects to accept and master.
  • The scale is widely applicable.
